L-1: Intracompany Transferee Visa
A dual intent visa providing a direct pathway to residency is the L-1 visa for intracompany transferees. The L-1 visa is intended for Managers and/or Executives of a foreign company to be transferred to a U.S. subsidiary, franchise or affiliate office. The L-1 visa provides companies the ability to expand within the U.S., while providing a pathway for already established international companies to transfer its employees if needed.
Family Benefits:
- Work authorization for dependent spouses
- Children under age 21 may accompany and attend school
A sub-category of the L-1A Executives and Managers is the L-1B for those with specialized knowledge. If your employer has a qualifying relationship with a U.S. company, contact Attorney Chandoke Senior for an analysis of whether this route may be available to you.
E-2 Visa for Treaty Trader Investors
The E-2 visa (Investor Visa) allows nationals of treaty countries to invest and operate a business in the United States. A list of E-2 treaty countries may be found through the U.S. Department of State. It is an ever-changing area of practice as the consulates constantly vary in their decisions and required investment amounts.
The E-2 visa does NOT have a minimum investment amount and requires an investment in an “active” business, which leaves much discretion to the consular officer. Therefore, you as the investor must be thoroughly prepared to appropriately defend your case in front of a consular officer.
Attorney Chandoke Senior dedicates much of her time to preparing you for the interview while informing you of new issues that may develop.
Attorney Chandoke Senior has extensive experience working with various U.S. consulates representing clients with the E-2 visa process. It is imperative to remain informed on the international changes and trends with the various U.S. consulates for success with the E-2 visa.
Family Benefits:

Ms. Ana Senior was recommended to us by a friend when an immigration case from a family member got stuck in procedures. She took over the case and with his help, all started moving again and we finally got a decision favorable to us. Her knowledge and keen sense of opportunity and procedural hability were key elements in the outcome we had. We strongly recommend her!
